At least two publications designed to acquaint English-speaking Jewish youth with the Yiddish language and culture will be issued within the next few months under the sponsorship of the Aaron Fishman Foundation for Yiddish Culture, it was announced here today. The organization’s goal is to foster knowledge and appreciation of Yiddish culture among American Jewish youth on and off the college campus and at younger age-levels.
Scheduled for publication soon, the foundation stated, are a semi-annual “News About Yiddish,” summarizing information about the situation among Jewish communities throughout the world, to be issued by the World Congress for Yiddish Culture, and an illustrated songbook to be issued by the Jewish Education Committee of New York. Both works will be done in Yiddish and English. This year’s songbook will be the second in a series sponsored by the foundation.
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
