Gen Yariv Aharon, Chief of Intelligence of Israel’s armed forces, will visit the United States shortly to appear at various meetings on behalf of the United Jewish Appeal and the Israel Bond drive, It was announced here today. Gen. Aharon will appear in place of Gen. Moshe Dayan, Israel’s Minister of Defense, who cancelled his American speaking tour Thursday because of the battles along the Israel-Jordanian demarcation line.
Gen. Dayan had been scheduled to meet with high United States officials and to appear on several nationwide television programs. Since his visit was cancelled, American TV networks have flooded his office here with requests for interviews in Israel.
