The Cabinet approved a bill today that would force employers and employees to give 15 days advance notice on strikes or lockouts. The bill is expected to be brought before the Knesset (Parliament) at a later date. The Government has authority to mediate work disputes but has no power to enforce arbitration. The Histradrut, Israel’s labor confederation, reportedly has approved the bill.
