Histadrut leaders declared here today that they were firmly opposed to any retrenchment of Israel’s technical assistance, social and educational programs in black African states despite an anti-Israel resolution just adopted at a meeting of the African Unity Organization in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Zeev Haring, head of Histadrut’s international department, warned that Israel would be playing Nasser’s game if it ended its activities in Africa. The Egyptians want to create a wider rift between Israel and the African people, he said and Israel’s response should be to intensify its activities in Africa rather than diminish them.
