The Yeshiva University award was presented here last night to Maj. Gen. George R. Pearkes, Lieutenant-Governor of British Columbia, at a dinner attended by 350 members of the community held under the auspices of the Vancouver Friends of Yeshiva University. Messages were read at the dinner from Prime Minister Lester B. Pearson and Robert Stanfield, leader of the Conservative Party. Establishment of a George R. Pearkes Scholarship Fund at Yeshiva University was announced at the dinner.
