Rumanian Jewish Federation to Start New Program to Attract Youth into Community

The Federation of Jewish Communities of Rumania ended its conference here yesterday after deciding to undertake a program of information and education to induce the younger generation of Jews to join the communities and participate in their affairs. The conference was attended by representatives of 50 Rumanian Jewish communities out of 75 in the country which has a total Jewish population of 100,000. It heard a report by Chief Rabbi Moses Rosen, president of the Federation, who thanked the Rumanian Government and the Joint Distribution Committee for their support. Dr. Rosen said the Federation carries on a comprehensive program of social services and education and also contributes to the repair of synagogues and other Jewish institutions.
