The Paris newspaper Le Monde reported today that Ida Kaminska of the State sponsored Yiddish theater of Poland has left that country along with several other members of the troupe and is now in Vienna en route to Israel. The report said that about 45 Polish-Jewish intellectuals decided to leave the country because of the officially inspired anti-Jewish campaign there. The Jewish State Theater in Warsaw has been closed. Mrs. Kaminska was said to have been approached by Polish authorities prior to her departure to do anti-Israel propaganda work. It was reported in London that she will take up residence in New York City.
