The Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Philadelphia has joined with Catholic and Protestant bodies in calling on consumers to be selective in their purchase of table grapes in order to support the strike of Mexican-American farm workers against California growers. The growers, according to the JCRC, have rejected all overtures for a settlement or even negotiations.
