A soil sciences center named in honor of former Congressman Herbert Tenzer of New York will be located in Kubbitz Dan in the northern frontier area, near the Golan Heights, the Jewish National Fund disclosed today. It said that Mr. Tenzer, on a recent visit to Israel, had personally selected the site of the center which will be devoted to the study of scientific techniques for reclamation of land and for experimentation.

The center’s findings are expected to play a great role in the reclamation of the 75 percent of Israel’s territory that is still wasteland. JNF officials said the center’s findings would also be shared with the under-developed countries of Asia and Africa. The Jewish National Fund in New York is setting up a national sponsors council to provide funds for the new institution.
