Some 5,000 workers from East Jerusalem–a majority of Arab wage-earners–have Joined the Histadrut, Israel’s labor federation, its secretary-general Aaron Becker disclosed today, He praised the Jerusalem council for its efforts to recruit new members.
Six hundred American youth and about 900 tourists will come to Israel this summer under the auspices of the Histadrut campaign, the labor federation said today, A spokesman said 260 of the youngsters would spend several weeks at a kibbutz.
