Fire today destroyed a cardboard box factory near Israel’s international airport at Lydda. Firemen battled the blaze for four hours before bringing it under control. Damage to the Kargal cardboard plant was estimated at $571,000.

A police spokesman claimed that sabotage was not suspected, although, he said, “I am sure the Arab guerillas will claim credit for it.” The factory, located 10 miles southeast of Tel Aviv, was founded 15 years ago by Canadian industrialist Sam Dubiner. More than 100 Arab employees were questioned.
