A Papal representative said on his arrival here today that he thought Pope Paul VI would “act toward peace” in the Middle East because peace is “the best and dearest thing in the world” to him.

Archbishop Pio Leghi, the new Apostolic delegate to Jerusalem, held an impromptu press conference aboard the Italian motors hip Enotria. Questioned about the prospects of diplomatic relations between the Vatican and Israel, he said, “I think that with good will everything is possible.” The Archbishop was received by representatives of the Foreign Ministry and the Ministry for Religious Affairs.
