Goodman Family Endows Institute at Reconstructionist Rabbinical College

An institute for contemporary Jewish civilization will be established at the new Reconstructionist Rabbinical College here through an endowment gift made by Abraham, Mollie and Anna Goodman, Rabbi Ira Eisenstein, president of the college. announced today. The institute will be known as the Abraham, Mollie and Anna Goodman Institute for Contemporary Jewish Civilization and will provide the fifth year of the core curriculum for the students at the college.

Mr. Goodman is a member of the board of directors of the Jewish Reconstructionist Foundation and a member of the board of the Rabbinical College, which was established in 1968.

The Goodman Institute is the first of five such institutes which have been planned to cover the entire range of graduate study. The Reconstructionist Rabbinical College devotes one year to each of the major periods of Jewish development–Biblical, Rabbinical, medieval, modern and contemporary.
