Two new courses on techniques for educating the handicapped will be offered this year at the Teachers Institute of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, the Seminary announced today. The courses will emphasize the role which a religious institution can play in educating handicapped children. They are the first in this specialized field to be offered in the New York Metropolitan area.
The Seminary said that Dr. Gloria Wolinsky, associate professor of education at Hunter College, will serve as consultant to the Institute for both courses. Dr. Wolinsky is a recognized authority on the educational needs of physically, mentally or emotionally handicapped children.
