Jewish Students’ Group in West Germany to Combat Anti-zionist Arab Propaganda

The General Organization of Jewish Students in West Germany announced today that they will increase their activities to counteract anti-Zionist Arab propaganda at German universities and high schools. The student group said the attacks on Israel stem from German leftists and Arab students. They said they will also launch a campaign to arouse public opinion against the treatment of Jews in Soviet Russia.

Foreign Minister Abba Eban is due here on Feb. 23 on what will be the first official visit by a ranking member of Israel’s Cabinet to West Germany. But before Mr. Eban arrives, Bonn will be visited by Bahdat Talhouni, the Premier of Jordan, Mr. Talhouni is due here on Jan. 26 and will stay until Feb. 2. The weekly news magazine Die Welt today criticized France’s sale of 50 Mirage jets to Libya and the reported Franco-Israeli arms negotiations. The magazine said the weapons would be used against Israeli villages. It noted that Iraq regards itself in a state of war with Israel and has refused to accept the United Nations cease-fire.
