An Egyptian Government spokesman in Cairo said yesterday that Britain’s reported sale of 200 Centurion tanks to Israel was regarded by Egypt as a “hostile act” against the Arab countries. Britain’s Ambassador to Egypt, Sir Richard Beaumont, was summoned to the Foreign Ministry in Cairo earlier to explain the reported sale.
