Strict protective security measures were In effect here Saturday at the opening of the trial of two Arab terrorists accused of attacking an El Al airliner on December 26, 1968. The defendants–Mahmoud Issa Mohamad. 27. and Hussein Suleyman El Yamani 20–were brought to the courtroom in separate cars escorted by plainclothesmen and uniformed police, and only persons with special passes were admitted inside. In another aspect of the case, the ambassador of Egypt. Syria and Iraq, while present in court, were denied permission to sit as defense counsel and were relegated to the front row of the public benches.
