Administration officials said late this afternoon that the crisis in Jordan may delay a U.S. announcement that it will sell more jets to Israel. An announcement was expected next week. Officials said a delay was being considered because any indication of more help for Israel could worsen the already precarious position of King Hussein. According to administration officials no final decision on the date of the announcement has been made but that it might now be advisable to put it off for a few days until the fate of the Hussein regime is more clear.
