Israelis, Druze on Month-long Tour of Eastern U.S. Communities Feted in Washington

Twenty-five Israelis including two Druze visited the White House and other historical sites last week as part of a month-long tour of eastern United States communities. The Druze were Munir Hamdan of Haifa, one of the group’s three adult leaders, and Sala Azmi of Osfia, a teenager. The group belongs to Noar L’Noar (“Youth to Youth”), an Israeli organization affiliated with the B’nai B’rith Youth Organization. The visitors to the White House were greeted by Bruce Rabb, executive assistant to President Nixon. At a lunch tendered by B’nai B’rith, the delegation was addressed by Jess Fisher, treasurer of B’nai B’rith Youth; Dr. Max Baer, international director, and Ruth Cantor, Greater Washington director. They also visited the Israeli Embassy. The group, which has already been to New York, Atlantic City, N.J. and Philadelphia, will be in Allentown. Pa., today and In Starlight, Pa., on Tuesday.
