The National League of Young Liberals, the youth wing of Britain’s Liberal Party, has withdrawn from the anti-Israel Palestine Solidarity Campaign on grounds that it does not want to be identified with Arab terrorism. Jack Barnett, joint honorary secretary of the Liberal Friends of Israel, told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency that the party as a whole was gratified by this move. “We see in this a first step towards a reversal of the pro-Arab policy, expressed by some members of the Young Liberal Movement, which has done so much to distract attention from the Liberal Party’s overwhelming sympathy for the State of Israel,” he said.
