An ecumenical association of chaplains embracing the Catholic, Protestant and Jewish faiths has been established for the State of Illinois according to an announcement by the Chicago Board of Rabbis, one of the founding sponsors and a participant in the association. The new organization, called the Illinois State Association of Chaplains, includes clergymen of the three faiths who perform pastoral duties at state institutions operated by the departments of mental health, child and family services and the department of correction. Rabbi Morris Fishman, chaplain at the Chicago-Read Mental Health Center, was elected president of the inter-faith association.
