Charles Woodruff Yost, who tomorrow ends his services as United States ambassador to the United Nations, called on the nations of the world yesterday to “ponder with the utmost seriousness” any course of action that might compromise the “rather promising movement” toward peace. The 63-year-old career diplomat, a Democrat, became the U.S. envoy here in January, 1969, and will be succeeded Monday by former Texas Rep. George Bush, a Republican.
