Chile’s Marxist President Salvador Allende said in an interview published here today that the Middle East conflict can be solved “only within the concept of the Jewish State’s right to existence and survival.” Outlining his attitude on the Middle East to the weekly L’Express, Allende said, “We have not always approved of the Israel government but we have always recognized the rights of the Jewish people and we also recognize the rights of the Arab people.”
