More than 5,000 Washingtonians jammed the Montgomery Mall in suburban Maryland today to inaugurate a week of celebrations marking the 23rd anniversary of Israel’s Independence. Gov. Marvin Mandel of Maryland proclaimed this week “Israel Week” throughout the State. The shopping center was festooned with American and Israeli flags.
