An Arab terrorist was killed in the Gaza Shati refugee camp in the Gaza Strip this morning in a clash with an Israeli patrol, A woman inmate of the camp was wounded in the exchange of fire. There were no Israeli casualties. Funeral services were held in Rishon Le Zion yesterday for Pvt. Zion Gamil, 21, who was killed Monday in a battle with an armed Arab gang in the Jebaliya quarter of Gaza. Israeli authorities promised today to rebuild the homes of two East Jerusalem Arabs which were demolished by sappers recently because the owners were suspected of terrorist acts. The home owners were exonerated when captured terrorists confessed to the acts. The authorities also promised to help the men of the two families find jobs.

What was probably the longest prison sentence ever handed down by an Israeli court–military or civilian– was imposed by a Gaza tribunal today on 30-year-old Mahmoud Mussa Yassin, alias Bu Nimmer, a commander of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine in the Gaza Strip, Yassin was found guilty of six murders, two of his victims being Arab women, He was captured while trying to rape an Arab girl. He was sentenced to a life term for each of the murders plus 140 years, The terrorist leader narrowly averted the death sentence because only one judge tried his case. Under Israeli law the death penalty can be imposed only if two or more judges are presiding.
