Train service between Jerusalem and the coastal area was resumed by midday today after the line was disrupted last night by an act of sabotage just south of Jerusalem near the Arab village of Batir. The explosion wrecked a 39-inch section of the line. The damage was discovered during the morning inspection in time for trains to be warned. Railway workers were rushed to the scene and they repaired the line while police and border police units searched Batir. This area has been the scene of several acts of sabotage.
