Declaring that it seeks the maximum involvement of American Jews in the determination of Jewish programs and priorities in the US and to “liberate the Jewish community from the domination of the few who have not been chosen to lead American Jewry, on which decisions are undemocratically imposed,” the Labor Zionist Movement has issued its platform for the forthcoming World Zionist Congress elections.
The platform which urges every Zionist to vote the Labor Zionist Slate “to insure dynamic Zionism and Jewish communal life in America,” listed three areas and issues that the “Labor Zionist Movement regards as crucial for dynamic and creative Jewish survival in the US: support for Labor Israel; democracy in Jewish communal affairs; the unity of the Jewish people; education and culture, and protection of Jewish rights.”
The platform was announced by the Labor Zionist Movement Congress Election Campaign Committee, headed by Israel Stolarsky. The seven organizations making up the Labor Zionist Movement Slate are: Poale Zion; Pioneer Women; Farband; Friends of Labor Israel; American Habonim Association; Habonim and Dror.
