The United Zionists-Revisionists of America announced today that they would not participate in the election of American delegates to the 28th World Zionist Congress opening in Jerusalem next month and accused the American Zionist Federation of violating a recent ruling of the Congress Tribunal. The Revisionists charged that contrary to the Tribunal’s ruling on the distribution of 45 percent of the delegate seats from the US, a new formula was developed by the AZF “which equates the larger Revisionist movement with groups one-half and even one-fifth its size.”

According to the Revisionists, the AZF was circumventing the Tribunal’s orders that the membership lists of all Zionist organizations in this country must be made available to every Zionist organization to check the qualifications of voters. “Instead of allowing for a full inspection of membership lists by all Zionist organizations, they decided to make a mockery of such inspection by denying the right to copy the address of any member. Effective checking of the qualifications of voters thus became impossible,” the Revisionist’s statement said.

The United Zionists-Revisionists and the Zionist Organization of America appealed to the Congress Tribunal two months ago against the AZF’s decision to use mail ballots and against an inter-party agreement on the distribution of delegates’ seats which they claimed was exclusionary. The Tribunal upheld the mail ballot but voided the inter-party agreement. The Revisionists charged that the AZF was deliberately withholding portions of the Tribunal’s ruling from the public.
