An allocation of about $250,000 for development of health and vocational training projects for Arabs in the Gaza Strip and in the Judea and Samaria districts on the West Bank was approved today by the board of the Trusteeship for Refuge Rehabilitation and Economic Development. Moshe Zanbar, governor of the Bank of Israel who is head of the trusteeship, submitted plans for the projects to the directors of the trusteeship.
The plans had been recommended by the Defense Ministry. The proposed projects include a health center to serve 20,000 residents in the Gaza Strip and a vocational training center and a workshop for 300 students in Gaza. The directors also approved plans for a new wing for the government hospital in Nablus in the West Bank and the paving of roads and playgrounds for refugee Arab children in the Gaza Strip.
So far, the board was told, about $1 million in trusteeship funds has been invested in improvement of buildings and services in refugee camps in the Gaza Strip and in the Judea and Samaria districts. The trusteeship was set up for donors–most of whom are in the United States.
