A committee investigating the relocation of some 2000 Bedouin families from a cordoned off region between the Gaza Strip and Sinai was reportedly told by the Bedouin sheikhs that certain Israeli Army officers had advised them to protest the move to the International Red Cross. The sheikhs and their tribesmen were said to be well satisfied with the compensation they received from the government and were more than pleased with their new dwellings which are better than they had before. Meanwhile, rival kibbutz movements planned rallies for and against the government action.
