Foreign Minister Abba Eban has warned that Israel could expect new political pressures and possibly military action at the beginning of 1973. He said that any new American administration might be expected to adopt a vigorous policy aimed at getting results in ending the Middle East impasse. But, the Foreign Minister added, “I have faith that the principles on which the American policy has been based during the past five years will not be discarded.”

Eban addressed the 150 members of the Labor Party Secretariate here. He said that as far as he knew, United Nations mediator Gunnar V. Jarring has been called back to New York in connection with the Mideast report the Secretary General must submit to the General Assembly this fall. “Nobody has said the Jarring mission is to be resumed,” Eban said.
