Finance Minister Pinhas Sapir predicted that real wages and salaries would rise by eight percent next year. He told newsmen that three percent of the rise would be attributable to tax cuts. Sapir said he would decide in Oct. whether to impose the added value tax the Treasury has been planning. If the decision is taken, the tax will become effective with the beginning of the next fiscal year, he said.
