Two men were injured today when a hand grenade was thrown in Khan Yunis at a busload of Arab workers on their way to jobs in Israel. It was the third grenade incident in a week in the Gaza Strip. Israeli authorities attributed the resurgence of grenade attacks in the Strip to local terrorists or “summer visitors” from Arab countries who “leave a souvenir.”

A Syrian soldier who crossed the Israeli lines several days ago has been captured and placed in a prisoner-of-war camp, it was announced today. The soldier was identified as Ali Walid Mawadin, a sergeant in the Syrian Army. Red Cross authorities were notified of his capture.
