The Central Jewish Committee has sent a cable to Leonid I. Brezhnev. Communist Party General Secretary, protesting against the excessive exit visa fees for Jewish intellectuals and scientists who want to emigrate. Their cable of protest, demanding that the fees be cancelled, was published in the Mexican press. Mexican scientists and intellectuals also published a declaration protesting the fees and expressing solidarity with the Soviet intellectuals. The protests are being coordinated by the Central Jewish Committee, Zionist Federation and the communal leaders.
