A 65-year-old Lebanese Jew kidnapped yesterday in the center of Beirut was released this morning and returned to his home. Selim Halam was reportedly abducted by two armed men from the musical instrument shop in which he was working and was driven away in a waiting car.

Lebanese police sources, quoted by reliable Jewish sources, say that the man was returned this morning to his home. Apparently he had little worthwhile information for the police. It is believed here that Halam was kidnapped by Palestinian terrorists after having been mistaken for someone else. The kidnappers apparently realized their mistake and returned Halam to his home. The sources said that the Lebanese authorities used all the means at their disposal during Halam’s disappearance to trace him.
