Seven Arabs Get Prison Terms for Spying; 11 Druze Go on Trial

Seven more Arab members of a Syrian-directed Arab-Jewish spy ring got prison terms today. A Haifa district court pronounced sentences ranging from 4-9 years against the accused on charges of membership in a hostile organization and conspiracy to commit treason. One suspect was acquitted and another, who was under 21 at the time of his offense, will be sentenced after a report by his probation officer.

Eleven of 59 Golan Heights Druze accused of spying for Syria went on trial before a military tribunal in Kuneitra today. They are charged with spying, committing acts of sabotage and mailing letter bombs to President Nixon, former U.S. Defense Secretary Melvin Laird and U.S. Secretary of State William P. Rogers.
