Charles F. Luce, chairman and chief executive officer of Con Edison, is on a 10-day official visit to Israel to study common problems of power, fuel and water supply. Luce, who also serves as chairman of the United States National Water Commission, is making the trip at the invitation of the Israeli government.
While in Israel, he will meet with Cabinet ministers and officials in charge of the nation’s energy and water systems. He will also tour the country’s major electric and water facilities and will visit Israeli research facilities at the Technion and the Weizmann Institute of Science.
“Israel and the United States share the increasingly difficult problem of meeting energy needs while protecting the environment,” said Luce. “I am looking forward to exchanging thoughts and ideas on many projects and problems of mutual interest.” Luce serves as a vice-chairman of the Non-Sectarian Committee of the United Jewish Appeal of Greater New York.
