One the eve of the High Holy Days, special security measures have been taken at the Israeli Embassy and the residence of the Israeli Ambassador in The Hague, and at El Al offices in Amsterdam.

A police spokesman said yesterday the measures were being taken solely in view of the coming holidays and had no relation to warnings received recently in Israel of letter bombs to be sent to Israel from Amsterdam.

The reported warnings said the letter bombs were to be sent from the University of Amsterdam Dental School. The spokesman confirmed that the envelopes in question were in fact the size of those used at the school but said police suspect the envelopes have been stolen.
