The Rabins are replacing the Ebans. The new Premier Yitzhak Rabin has decided he will not live in the house on Ben Meimon Boulevard where David Ben Gurion, Levi Eshkol and Golda Meir resided, but rather at the house that used to be the residency of the Foreign Minister. The house became vacant when Foreign Minister Yigal Allon decided to remain in his apartment in the Jewish quarter of the Old City.
Former Foreign Minister Abba Eban has almost completed evacuating the house at Balfour and Smolenskin, and he has already spent one night at the King David Hotel because most of the Ebans’ personal belongings have already been moved out. The Rabins will move in after the necessary changes and renovations take place.
