Silva Zalmanson cabled thanks to Rabbi Israel Miller, chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, for the Conference’s efforts which led to her release from a Soviet prison. Her message from Israel, which Rabbi Miller read to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, said: “Happy to express my endless gratitude. Essential to continue effective struggle. Thanks. Silva Zalmanson.”
