A group of 59 Toronto doctors have sent a petition to the Canadian government condemning the United Nations and urging that the Western democratic countries end their support to the world body. The petition also urged Canada’s immediate withdrawal from UNESCO because of its resolutions excluding Israel from the European regional group. “We felt that the UN has degenerated into a meaningless, useless organization,” said Dr. Joseph Grader, who organized the petition drive. The petition criticized the UN General Assembly for allowing Yasir Arafat, head of the PLO to address it last November and for the exclusion of Israel from UNESCO.
