Work resumed today at Israel Discount Bank branches ending an eight-day strike which had shut down the bank’s 150 branches throughout the country. The bank’s 4000 employes accepted management’s demands that they agree to accept the government’s new tax reforms which eliminate certain tax-free benefits they formerly enjoyed. The strike against the bank, which accounts for 20 percent of the nation’s bank customers, disrupted banking operations in Israel.
