President Ernesto Geisel told a delegation of Brazil’s Jewish community Monday that all Jewish organizations may continue their activities as before. This was understood to be an assurance that no restrictions will be made regarding Zionist activities. following Brazil’s vote in the UN for the anti-Zionist resolution.

Dr. Benno Milnitzky, president of Brazil’s Jewish Confederation, who headed the delegation, expressed the anxiety of the Jewish community that anti-Semitic groups, now busy distributing the “Protocols of the Elders of Zion,” may consider the Brazilian anti-Zionist vote as a “green light” for their activities. Geisel reassured the delegation that any sign of anti-Jewish activity will be immediately halted by the government.
