Baron Albert Lilar, a long-standing friend of Israel and of the Jewish community here, has died at the age of 76, members of his family reported. Baron Lilar, a former Justice Minister, took part in all demonstrations in favor of Israel. A member of the Association of Belgian Friends of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, he was the father of French novelist Francoise Mallet-Joris.
