Israeli forces clashed with terrorists early this morning on the shores of the Dead Sea near the new settlement of Kalla. An army spokesman said two terrorists crossed the Dead Sea from Jordan towards Israel using an improvised raft. An Israeli patrol spotted two figures in the water and called on them to come out. One of the two terrorists signalled that he was coming out and at the same time the other opened fire on the patrol. The patrol opened fire killing one and injuring the other. There were no Israeli casualties. The raft was found to contain explosive materials, hand grenades, ammunition and two Kalachnikoff rifles. The contents of the raft indicated that the terrorists were on a mission of sabotage.
