Defense Minister Shimon Peres told the Cabinet meeting today that Syrian authorities have agreed to set up a site in the Golan Heights buffer zone to serve Druze families in both countries. Peres said Israel has brought the issue up several times but this is the first time the Syrians have responded affirmatively. For lack of such an agreement, the Druze of the two countries can not meet but must use bullhorns to communicate from separate points.
