On the eve of Rosh Hashanah, Israel’s Jewish population surpassed the three million mark, the Central Bureau of Statistics announced today. Israel’s entire population is now 3,549,000. In1949, when the first-census took place, there were one million Jews in Israel, and in 1962 there were two million.
