Prominent Austrians Urging Study of Anti-semitism in the Country

A group of prominent Austrians urged all political parties represented in Parliament to join in a project to investigate the historical background and the present situation of anti-Semitism in Austria.

The investigation which is supported by Austria’s Chancellor, Bruno Kreisky, will be directed by scientists. The investigation intends to clarify the situation of anti-Semitism in Austria and to make it more difficult in the future to disseminate anti-Semitic views. Moreover, Kreisky also ordered that a detailed questionnaire be developed far an investigation poll in determine the size and influence of anti-Semitism in Austria.
