Francisco Silbert, a member of Rio’s State Assembly for three terms, has died here at the age of 58. He was born in Rio, the son of Jewish immigrants from Poland. Silbert, who served once as the president of the Assembly, was a strong supporter of Israel and the cause of Soviet Jewry in the legislature.
