Secretary General kurt Waldheim said Friday that Israel and Syria have agreed to the extension of the mandate of the United Nations Disengagement Force (UNDOF) on the Golan Heights. Waldheim, in a report to the Security Council, recommended to the Council the extension of the force for an additional period of six months, until Nov. 30, because the situation in the area is precarious.
